UGANDA project

About:  In partnership with Just Like My Child, our goal is to build 5 schools and provide life-saving services for several Ugandan communities. Funds raised go directly to providing :

Education: Build schools, furnish classrooms and provide school supplies
Water/Sanitation: Support clean water system and sanitation
Alternative Income: Micro- enterprise programs that support basic training in literacy, financials and provide new business resources to start for women
Healthcare Services: Provide health care and/or education services to improve the health of rural communities

We are extremely grateful for the generous individuals and organizations that have helped us fund the first two schools and provide these life-giving services to the communities.

History shows us that every great social movement began with one thing - somebody did something. And by taking action individually and together, we can change the world.

SUCCESS STORY: Friends of the Unstoppable Foundation (individual donors and their teams) built 1 primary grade school in Uganda in 2009!

Friends of the Unstoppable Foundation contributed funds to build two primary grade school in Uganda in 2009!
In partnership with The Collective Heart and the Mark Victor Hansen Foundation, we supported our in-country partner, Just Like My Child, to complete the first primary grade school in Katikamu, Uganda September, 2009 and the 2nd school, St. Joseph Magogo, will be complete 2nd Q, 2010. The Katikamu school’s three classrooms and St. Joseph Magogo school will serve over 600 children—many of whom have had very limited access to quality education or facilities.

Just Like My Child is continuing to support these communities with business and administrative training so the school will be sustainable long after we are gone. JLMC’s model includes teacher housing, allowing teachers to remain close to the school without struggling to travel far distances each day. Thus enabling students to be more successful, as a result.
The community members in Katikamu, Uganda were provided not only the resources and help to construct their first primary school, purchase books, and hire teachers but as importantly, they will receive business and administrative training so the school will be sustainable.

St Joseph Magogo
When Just Like My Child arrived in Magogo, Uganda, some classrooms were taking place in a roofless structure with nothing but rubble for flooring. Other classrooms had no structure at all but took place under the Mango tree. When the rains came, the school washed away for weeks at a time. The parents of this community have worked hand in hand with Just Like My Child Foundation to construct the new buildings in record time. Nearly 500 children are now studying in new facilities.
